Long time for anything to be written in this blog. Mostly cuz of my real life is taking advantage of me! Too much work but i really couldn’t stop myself from writing something about all the shit happening past 3 days and 4 nights at Greece. As many might know already, since situation at Greece is first news in many countries at the moment, everything started at Saturday night when a 15 y old boy was shot and killed in cold blood by a police officer for no reason at all. News (with the help of internet too to be honest) were spread asap all over country and the reaction was imediate. Gatherings and protests were organized , take overs of university and other government buildings happened.

As you can see by yourselves, situation at the moment resembles of a country in a state of war. This is not far from the truth, but what is in most simple people’s mind is whether this is an unorganized break out from the people – and mostly teenagers or it is a well organized plan that has as a target to unstabilize even more Greece and take citizen’s minds away of the scandals that were being revealed past months. Scandals involving political and church major personas, with money and state exchanges. The so called scandal of Vatopedi, which is one of the biggest monasteries, which had to do with claims of the monastery to own big parts of land showing contracts that were signed from the age of 1500-1700 while Greece was under Turk’s authority. During past months we were witnesses of huge amounts of money and lands exchange between official church and past 15 years governments when in the same moment youth at Greece has to manage their lives with the basic wage of 700 euros and with 1/5 of the citizens under the limit of poverty.

If added all the rest scandals of past 1 year and the recent world wide economical crisis it is easily understandable that political games can be played on the backs of citizens or even created just so they can be manipulated easier. After all when at more than 40 major cities at Greece, riots, burnings of banks/shops/government buildings and constant conflicts between protesters and police happen in every day basis, fear is the major feeling that takes over mass crowd. Fear is the ultimate weapon of manipulation, resulting to making Greeks a tool to the hands of the masterminds that rule this country for many years now. Last but not least past days’ happenings is the main excuse for a lot of nazi parties to show up and blame the foreigners for everything, since in all this chaos that exists mob finds the perfect “working place” to focus on their every day (or night?) business which is the looting of a lot of shops and merchantizes that worth hundreds of thousands of euros.

I am not really sure how all this situation will evolve. Best guess i can make is that people will forget after a point, will forget that after the military government of 1967-1974 ended, they are ruled from the same people past 35 years almost. 2 political parties, 3 big political “familias”. Political corruption, unemployment, bad education system, almost no health/insurance policy with a guaranteed future, unfair taxing system are the problems that Greek citizens demand a solution. And i am afraid that as long as people will keep on giving their trust in same people and political parties that rob them and make them more poor every year, increasing the gap with rest EU (from which we ninjaed a lot of money past years without managing to make something on time and on accurate cost), situations like the ones we live past days will continue to happen. It’s time for everyone to act like a thinking person and not like a puppet so rich can become more rich. We talk about our lives and our future and we don’t need 70 year old fuckers to tell us how we should act and what we should do.

So the date is known, 13th November. This will mean that we probably see a lot of guilds slacking till the start of the expansion, so a weekly update might be hard. But Heck, lets give it a shot!

PVE progression Alliance:

The big news of the week: Council of Tirisfal stopped raiding. Well at least, we will not see them in SWP anytime soon. They will now focus on wotlk. The guild started with big promises: it was going to be the next big guild, which was going to aim for a full SWP clear before the expansion. Many big names, like Arano, Strong, Boyaa, Thoridon, Havrixx were joining the guild. But despite Strongs much hated recruitment tactics, the guild never really got on the level they expected to be. Many players left as they just couldn’t stand the differences. So this will bring us back to 1 active swp guild again.

And this guild is The Aunans. They managed to down Brutallus again, after having dealt with many healers going inactive. The guild is hungry for more and will try to aim for at least 1 or 2 more SWP kills before the expansion hits.

PVE progression Horde:

Nothing spectacular happened on Horde side. Playboys, a fairly new guild, got 2 bosses down in BT, which brings the amount of active horde guilds to around 8. Around Supreme it is quiet. Will they manage to kill another SWP boss or are they waiting for the expansion as well?

Saying goodbye to…

Daveyoyo. He already was playing his alliance warrior on Kazzak, but now he transferred his mage as well. Daveyoyo was probably one of the most ambiguous players on Vashj; one half of Vashj loved him, one half of Vashj disliked him. He was a spammer, but also a great guildleader. He led Caution to a world top 30 Eredar kill, which is extraordinary. But he couldn’t save Caution from the summer slack. Even though I was never a big a fan of Daveyoyo, it is sad to see such an important player leave and I wish him good luck at where ever he goes.

PVE progression Alliance:

Discworld followed my advice and killed another boss in Black temple, Reliquary of Souls was the victim this time. This means, they have set another step to become a decent PVE guild and crawled out of the mediocrity.

Council of Tirisfal seems to be on destination guild disband. 2 officers, Boyaa and Arano, left the guild this week, 2 officers that have been there at the start of the guild and Boyaa was also the raidleader.  Probably the lack of real progression is getting to them. This week, the guild didn’t managed to kill Kalecgos again. Due to a bad week in Black temple, they only had 1 day for SWP. It seems the guild will fall apart slowly, or does Strong has something under his sleeve and manages to get things on the rails? We will see

The Aunans had a mediocre week as well. Having the usually healers problem that is known on Vashj, they had to bring new healers to SWP, making them have to learn the Kalecgos encounter. They did manage to kill him however and with a couple of new recruits they are aiming for their 2nd Brutallus kill this week.

PVE Progression Horde

The big kill of the week was from Mojo Madness. They killed the Eredar Twins, putting them next to the already disbanded guild Caution and the transferred guild Serendipity. Although they haven’t god the fastest progress in the world, they show that stability is far more important on Vashj than having fast progression. The guild that was being mocked for having inferior progression compared to Caution, will be in the end the winner if they manage to kill M’uru. And who knows, maybe we will even see a Kil’jaeden kill as well

The feel good guild Love Circle managed to kill the 3 easy bosses in BT and can call themselves a Black Temple guild now. Lets see if they can manage to kill the harder bosses or that this the last station for them.

Community

This week, Meriogi started a Naxxramas run, that will happen on more occasions. They had less ppl turning up that expected and were wiping at Anub’rekhan, though they are confident he will go down next week. Even though it is a level 60 instance, it is still pretty hard and especially for a pug, it will be hard to beat every encounter. However, this will be your last chance these Naxxramas in his current state. more Information can be found at http://forums.wow-europe.com/thread.html?topicId=5640527548&sid=1 .  If you are interested in other Pre-tbc instances, you can always whisper Elona who is trying to organize runs each week.

The Aunans start this week with their Mount Hyjal sell runs. Non guildies can buy epics for prices between 1k gold and 3k gold. Participating costs (at this time) nothing, but you can only tag along if you intend to buy an item. The MH runs are each Friday at 19h. PVE Progression Alliance

Progression wise, it was an interesting week for alliance with 2 SWP kills. Council of Tirisfal finally managed to master the Kalecgos encounter. One would say they are finally on track; however, they didn’t manage to kill Illidan this reset. Flame tanking is hard, kk?

At first sight, one would say that the difference between the very good players they have and the less gifted players is too big. Strong and co have a big challenge ahead, let’s hope for alliance sake it isn’t too big.

The other SWP kill is from: The Aunans.

Yes, the wankers managed to kill Brutallus and have therefore passed their gear check exam. The most successful guild on Vashj during the summer slack, is progressing steady through Sunwell and if they can keep their activity up, we will see more kills soon.

Discworld seemingly didn’t kill any other bosses in Black Temple this week. Hopefully this reset they will be more successful for them to get out of mediocrity.

PVE Progression Horde

Horde wise, nothing really special happened. Yeah, the feel good guild Love Circle killed some bosses in MH and Endure bumped their recruitment topic, so that answered my question last week whether they still exist or not. Off course, my horde knowledge isn’t that big as I play alliance myself. It is time I get myself a horde char.

Economy

With the 5 successful guilds in SWP , prices for Terocone, Netherbloom and Nightmare vine are higher than a Frappuchino in Paris. Farming for them is almost impossible at this moment as they are as rare as a living France guy in London.

Saying goodbye to…

This week we had to say goodbye to our beloved Pussycat. The whole community enraged after she opened a topic where she posted a picture of a very hot woman, who she claims to be. Too bad she left so fast; I was looking forward to make a couple of sex jokes. There are never enough sex jokes I have to find another victim. If any hot woman with around 36-29-36 as measurements wants to volunteer for some daily badly tasted sex jokes, pm me in game.

Community

Each week I will tell if some special community event happened. This week nothing extraordinary happened. I would like to mention the Daily VashjFM show hosted by several players on Vashj. They are the ones that organize community events, like Gnomish death race, Hunt the player, Outdoor PvP battles, etc.

Malaysia Today has no respect for religion: Syed Hamid

KAJANG: The Malaysia Today news portal has no respect at all for religion even though the topic is very sensitive and the “fire of religion” could cause chaos and havoc, said Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar.

The Home Minister said as public figures, politicians know they are bound to be criticised and fair criticism even in cyberspace was something that was welcomed because it was a wake up call to “make us realise where we have gone astray and what people are not happy about.”

He said however that this did not mean it could be used to disparage, defame, libel and circulate untruths without boundaries and restraint, and that the Government has a responsibility to act in the name of public interest.

Syed Hamid noted that although court action was being taken against Malaysia Today editor Raja Petra Kamaruddin over some of the defamatory articles he published on his website, “instead of sobering it, he went further in his personal attacks.”

“If he wants to criticise ‘this is wrong, that is wrong, this is corrupt’, that is okay but you must not create public fear, or send a message that would cause uncertainty and a lot of damage to the country in terms of public confidence and investor confidence,” he told reporters Saturday after attending the Merdeka celebrations at the Kajang Prison.

Earlier this week, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (SKMM) said it was blocking access to the Malaysia Today website under Section 263 of the Act.

Energy Water and Communications Minister Datuk Shaziman Abu Mansor and Home Minister Syed Hamid said the government did not instruct SKMM to do so.

Utusan Malaysia reported on Saturday that SKMM had banned Malaysia Today not for political reasons or because it was very critical of politicians such as Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, but because the website had insulted the Prophet Muhammad.

The SKMM head Mohamed Shahril Mohamed Tarmizi told Utusan that the ban against Malaysia Today was because an article in the website had tried to draw parallels of the Holy Prophet to the former Iraqi president Saddam Hussein and Al Qaeda’s Osama bin Laden.

Syed Hamid said countries take action when people profane religion “what more from a person (Raja Petra) who professes to be a Muslim.”

“I thought personally when they (SKMM) took action – under current developments – that we were very slow to take action even though we are hurt very badly so often,” he added.

He denied that the ban was tantamount to censoring the Internet, saying that even other countries banned some sites such as one on paedophiles, circulating hate mail or Osama bin Laden.

He stressed that the cyberspace ultimately was not controllable.

On whether the action would backfire by making the Malaysia Today news portal even more popular, Syed Hamid said there was always that possibility but the Government makes decisions based on principles and in the best interest of the public.

“I hope this will be understood in that context. It is not moving one step behind but protecting the good for the many and trying to avoid possible repercussions that could be worst,” he added.

On whether the Government wanted to warn bloggers, he said, there was no need to do so.

He said bloggers just had to act responsibly and understand the sensitivities and not offend people or threaten the country’s security by bringing about conflict between religions, races or cultures.

The Aunans, first kill of Onyxia @ Onyxia’s Lair

Before i start my usual bshits and bla bla i will quote Sirdalord’s (Sevenshots at tbc) story @ pre-tbc Aunans forums. It is a RP story kinda, but really well made and i am not up to let it get lost in the oblivion!

Sirdalord’s story :

“At 22-12-2005 a brave group of wankers went to Dustwallow Marsh to face Onyxia, sister of Nefarian, daughter of Blackwing. They went here to revenge the terror Onyxia has put on the alliance for quite a while.

Full of confidence the group, who called themselves The Aunans, entered the Lair. They slayed without any trouble the finest guardians Onyxia gathered and went without any trouble to her hide-out.

Facing the impressive dragon, the once so confident Aunans, became insecure and a bit frightened. But reminded by the promise they made to Highlord Boldovar, they choose to fight instead to run.

The Aunans had appointed a warrior to get her attention while the rest would try to kill her. This tactic seemed to work and onyxia became weaker by the minute. Aunans confidence was rising again and they begin to think they would actually get her on her knees.

But after a while, onyxia noticed that she had underestimated her opponents and she decided to attack the aunans from the air. She called up on her children to help her fight the noble alliance. Scared by this sudden move, the aunans gathered up into a group, trying to find the safety that company of more people can offer. However, when Onyxia saw this happen, she took a deep breath and fill the cave with fire. The aunans where supprised and many were heavily injured. They retreated…

But they were not defeated. The aunans treated the casualties and gathered once more to attack her. Meanwhile, onyxia has called new wardens to protect her from the alliance. But even they where no match for the might of the Aunans and after a couple of minutes, they were facing onyxia again. But they made the same mistakes as the first attack and where forced to retreat again.

Aunans did not gave up and tried again, but they failed once more. But at the 4th try, they seemed to survive onyxia while she was flying in the air and weakened her with magic spells, bullets and arrows. Onyxia became fed up and landed to face the alliance. She let the ground shake, lava came out of the floor. Her attacks became stronger. And just when she was about to fall on her knees, the aunans where forcred to retreat again.

But this time, they knew she could be defeated. So the Aunans entered the cave once more, more confident than before, more certain of their abilities. They slayed the new wardens again and faced onyxia. And this time, everything went according to plan. onyxia tried and tried, but she couldn’t defeat the alliance wall. And after a a while, she couldn’t bare the alliance attacks and fell down, dead.

The Aunans where excited and proud. But the biggest suprise was yet to come: in the stomach of onyxia, they found 2 magical helms, a book wich probally belonged to a warlock and through wich they can summon a skeleton and a bag, wich at first sight never ended.

The aunans took the head of onyxia and traveled back to stormwind city. The highlord was pleased and proud and rewarded the alliance with a tremendous award. But the most unbelievable thing was about to happen. When the head of onyxia was raised, every alliance in the neighborhood of the head, was hit by lightning and became stronger than before. And the aunans looked up on each other and they knew: it is time to kill some more bad guys.”

As you can understand from Sirdalord’s story the feeling from killing Onyxia for first time is awesome. Not that it is the hardest fight ever, but mostly cuz the fight itself is too random, specially the deep breath part and back then it was a topic of discussions and questions for a lot time in forums.  The Aunans were really lucky that had Sirdalord in their ranks, since he had experience from tanking and killing Onyxia from his ‘Epic’ times and he was actually the Raid Leader for the first 2-3 kills.

Personally Onyxia was always my big failure considering the tanking part. Dunno why but i always had a weird feeling in my stomach, while having to tank Onyxia. Specially after her landing from p2 to p3, till i manage to get the aggro back i was killing 4-5 people minimum :F. Prolly it helped a lot to my incompetence the fact that i failed in our first kill to make Quel’Serrar one of the 2 best epic 1-hand tanking weapons and an awesome quest series. If you check the video careful, you will notice my best friend (and our RL) Foris teasing me big time both in raid chat and in real life (since we were at the same net cafe) about me failing to make the sword! But i made it next reset anyway!

For the record the 35 people that were in this first Onyxia kill! Grats to all that were there!

What can i say about our realm? As one of the old school players, I have seen many players, guilds, drama and co passing by. Over the years, I learned two things. One that our community is strong and two our PVE progression isn’t.  What is this with Vashj and hardcore guilds? Why do they mix like Baily’s and tonic? What most people say is that our talent pool is dry as Anna Kournikova in the bedroom, but i doubt this is the only reason.

Yes we have too few good and active players for a competitive raiding guild; however, I feel it is possible to have steady PVE progression at Vashj if you have a guild with a good officer team. Guilds as Verve, with Saryon leading, showed in the past that good raiding guilds are possible. Actually, even, Serendipity showed they could easily exist till the yearly returning summer slack, but their officers panicked and went looking for the Holy Grail at the realm Kazzak.

It was one exciting summer this year for us forum trolls and drama queens. Crooks stopped raiding again, though this time it wasn’t mom who pulled the plug. Via Dolorosa disbanded after weeks of being burned meat at Illidan and of course Lorandil transferring didn’t help their cause either. But the disbanding of the year was, of course, that of Caution who for a point managed to compete @ SWP world wide level. Despite the fact Daveyoyo’s swifter absorbed several guilds, they couldn’t keep the guild running.

This hardly scares me. Over the years, I saw this coming back each year. Actually this is the first year my guild, The Aunans, kept raiding through the summer, progressing from Bloodboil till Kalecgos being down. Things will turn back to normal in a couple of weeks, when people come back for sure. And I am pretty sure that people won’t lose the chance to try clearing the last instance as it happened with Naxrammas at Vanilla wow.

Now Flash Vashj News, will try to give every week, after the instances reset an idea of how things were in the server the week that passed. At alliance side, we got 1 guild that has step foot in SWP at the moment, The Aunans. This week they managed to finish all farm content @ Monday, leaving Tuesday to try Brutallus getting him to 35% without an optimal setup for a kill. From the much expected Council of Tirisfal we haven’t heard much after their Illidan kill. Of course it’s hard to start a new guild at the summer and they had some bumps in the road, but the time comes to cash their promises, becoming the nr1 alliance guild, at least. The new guild Discworld, guild nr 59 from Gyftaki, had a reasonable week in BT, managing to down Teron Gorefiend, the retard check of Black Temple.

At Horde side, not much happened last week either. Mojo Madness is at the moment the nr 1 horde guild, with them being at the lovely Eredar Twins. Supreme are on their tails, however, with them trying Felmyst. With Vera Illumination having saved Kalecgos from getting corrupted, it promises to have an exciting battle of who will end TBC as best horde guild. Horizons are ready to enter SWP from their side too, since they managed to down Illidan . What leaves us with Endure. What is happening with this guild? They started very promising and progressed with an incredible speed. However, after that, not much was heard from them. Are they still raiding or was it just another ‘Supremacy’? Time will tell i reckon!

So after killing Lucifron with 28 ppl, Magmadar with 35 and Gehennas with 28 ppl again, we got kinda stuck @ Garr, since was the first boss at Molten Core that required a certain setup of tanks/warlocks. At this point of time the second best alliance guild ‘Epic’ which was led by Sirdalord (yea yea the known imba whiner tom, aka Sevenshots) was falling apart, since due to RL issues (he just couldn’t handle the pressure) Sirda stopped playing for some weeks and without any serious leading it disbanded reaching the point of Ragnaros, who couldn’t kill cause of major slacking regarding the Fire Resist gear needed.

Without ‘Epic’ existing, Eona (one of top priest this server had) joined Aunans, since he knew a lot of our members from the every night pug Ubrs we did whole summer. After Eona joined more members of ‘Epic’ decided to make Aunans  their home, such as Qyn, Madkow, Jezabel, Sharpe, Venombe, Sirdalord (though Qyn got him in guild and after checking the atmosphere he decided to stay, /suicide), Mantorax, Fergie, Deidre and more. All those people gave to Aunans the morale boost in first place + some working tactics (hihihi) and we kinda killed and had in farm status all rest bosses of Molten Core till Majordomo (Garr, Bardon Geddon, Shazzrah, Sulfuron and Golemagg).

Majordom Executus was a different story though, since even in Epic they hadn’t mastered the encounter when they disbanded (Quoting Sharpe : “every time we were there Sirda, it was a totally new different chaos and new way of kill”). After some good research from Foris – if i am not mistaken Merc from Shadowforce gave some imba tips for the fight, we managed a really good planned tactic and we got him down pretty fast!

For the record the people that were in this first Majordomo kill! Grats to all that were there!
